    Making assumptions with SQL Server is the quickest way of losing a database. Be careful about that.

    Did you set up replication yourself or are you working with someone else's setup?...

    The table placement may well be the source of your performance problem.

    Also, a row count would be nice. If you've got a wide, long table, that could take a long time no matter how well optimized your query is.

    You can't shrink other databases while the disk is full. SQL Server requires space in which to do the shrinking, in which to add markers or throw...
