That is the perfect analogy. I may have to "borrow" that phrase. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I have. It's a good one, but it didn't dissuade people from using it the way they've always used it. The performance problems remain because they keep doing the same thing in the same way.

Thank you, kind Sir and thank you and all the denizens of this fine forum for what you do, as wellย  Here's a pic of the post that did it...

My millionth point on SQL Server Central

It's been and continues to be a real pleasure to work and commiserate with people like yourself, Jonathan.ย  Seems like I've know quite a few of you "forever"... at least through a couple of generations of Developers. ๐Ÿ˜€

Congrats, my friend. That's a whole lot of posts...and (yup...here it comes) you got there one post at a time. ๐Ÿ˜‰

What is being done to combat the massive influx of spam posts which are happening multiple times a day at the moment?

    The silence is deafening.

  • SPAM is a problem now, and it's not a simple one. I've filed a ticket to work with the third party on what is not catching more than it does.

  • Anyone have powershell / SSIS with GPG experience? I could use some help here: https://www.sqlservercentral.com/forums/topic/powershell-calling-gpg-fails-on-sql-job

Weeks? You're doing it wrong. You should be able to get there in hours.

I'll never understand some of the problems people have with spam.ย  For example, how hard would it be to write an "after insert" trigger to check for the obvious spam patterns in the titles that we've recently seen and have the system mark them as SPAM? ๐Ÿ˜‰
