Happy Halloween 2009

,

This weekend is Halloween and in the US it seems to be one of those days that I find companies get very little work done. At least at many of the companies where I've worked. It seems that so many employees will bring in their kids to "trick or treat" during the day, cubes have buckets of candy, and people find time to laugh and joke with each other, accomplishing a minimal amount of work. In some of the larger companies, we've even decorated whole sections of the company, closing off some hallways to create a miniature haunted house.

Last Halloween my kids and I went skiing during the day, the first day of the 2008/2009 season for us, and we might do that again this year. It's fall break for my kids and Loveland is open! The picture to the right is from Monday this week and the forecast calls for more snow this week.

I'm taking a day off Friday to get ready for the PASS Summit. This editorial is going out Thursday as we have a special guest editorial tomorrow. And I have a few last minute details need to be completed before I head to Seattle next week. It should be a great time, and if you're attending, please feel free to stop me and say hi.

If not, then look for some live editorials and podcasts next week from the Seattle Summit. THE conference for SQL Server professionals.

In any case, Happy Halloween, and enjoy the weekend.
