Giving Thanks

It's Thanksgiving here in the US. I'm sure most of you won't read this until Monday, if at all, but for the few of you pulling holiday duty, here's a short note to pass the time.

I often write about career and employment issues because I think they're important. And often it's about the problems we face as employees and our struggle to enjoy life along with a job. So on this Friday after Thanksgiving, when I hope you're enjoying your holiday, I'll choose a lighter topic.

What are you thankful for in your job?

A quick, easy, poll that looks for the bright side in your employment. It's easy to gripe or complain, to let the bad stuff stand out, to think about the things you don't like.

But take a moment and look for the flower in the field of weeds. Let us know one good thing that you really like about your job. I guess I'm up first, so here goes:

What I love about my job is that I get to do something I really enjoy. You might have guessed it: writing editorials. I never expected to be in the place, but I really enjoy the podcasts and things, but writing is something that often gives me a little smile.
