It depends on the OS, but it's a user right in the control panel (system in XP), I think similar in W2K3

insert select doesn't work with identities unless you do as GSquared as noted.

Log Shipping is moving the tlog backups. They will be consistent. That's what a relational database does is ensure consistency based on the transaction...

Stange. Perhaps some batch setting in BULK INSERT
Print out the commands, and execute them yourself. Do you get the same counts? Each should be executing only once.

I do what GSquared does as well. Delete them in batches, 1,000-10,000 at a time.
