From my previous life as a production engineer (making stuff) I'd call it an improvement in resolution, rather than accuracy. Along the same lines as someone hamfisted using a vernier...

Agree completely with Jeff's suggestion as the best option.
Don't forget that there is a lot you can do using registered servers in SSMS and executing a query against multiple servers....
