Why would the two platforms differ by one day?

Probably because of February 29, 1900.

There is no such date. The full rule for leap years is not "evey...

  • RE: Predict the total count

This is an odd question. I instantly recognized 40358 as the "hundred-year format" date used by Infinium software on the AS400. I ran 40358 against the converter and returned 6/30/2010....

A SQL query goes into a bar, walks up to a table and asks 'May I join you?

That depends, do you go left or do you...

  • RE: Bad SQL Jokes

Why didn't the DBA have fun at parties?

He wasn't much if a joiner.

  • RE: Life Without a Net

What I truly do not understand is the need to be connected constantly in one's life. I view it as a kind of mass societal mental disease. There are few...

  • RE: What will the results be for the code below?

Precedence, operation order, and implicit conversion. How many times have I been caught by those? Great explanation.

  • RE: what laptop do you use?

  • RE: 100 Years Ago, What Would You Be?

Since some of my other interests are accounting, finance, and the stock market, I likely would have been a banker or stock magnate; losing it all in 1929. 😛

    That's quality entertainment

    Yup.

Currently watching them test to see if a cup of soda can kill you through a windscreen if thrown while cars...

Let's put the shoe on the other foot for a second (play some devil's advocet). Recently I attended my son's open house (or back to school, whichever comes first)....

  • RE: Raw Materials - The Eyes of Derek

This reminds me of places that put up security camera boxes that don't do anything. People think they're being watched and behave themselves. 😀

  • RE: The Design Investment

I have a hunch that designing databases and developing systems is just a tad more complicated than laying tile. 🙂

I learned database design as I went along in my career....

  • RE: Raw Materials - Summer on the Lake

That's how I feel when people use devices in a movie theater. I want to throw them in the trash (the people, not the devices ;-).

  • RE: If You Had To Pick a Super Hero...

No fictional superheros for me. I have two real ones. My dad and my uncle. They both were in WWII, one as a pilot and the other in the infantry....

  • RE: When To Touch

Modifying 3rd party databases is a bad idea. Managing upgrades is difficult and you may lose support. If the database is truly horrible, you can create a shadow database you...
