my configuration includes the connection strings.
What type of configuration are you using? XML, Environment, etc.
We use an XML file and only choose to save the Connection strings in them...

That would be a beautiful solution for an active database. (EDIT: Depending on how it's implemented. Incorrectly done, it could just cause pain ... )
