You know how at work one aw s**t wipes out a thousand atta boys? In parenting it's one atta boy wipes out a thousand aw s**ts, at least IMHO.It's really hard for me to understand the exact meaning of this sentence, but I think I figured out at last.
If I got it right, I totally agree. 😀
If you totally agree, you got it right. 🙂

You kids take this outside or I'm going to get my belt!If you don't stop right now - I'm going to turn this car around and we will go right home. I mean it! :w00t:
Oh, another thing my wife and I would do. You know all those drop-in babysitting places near malls? Kids don't behave, they go there. Yep, we used them as punishment.
Uhhhh? ... You mean the dumpsters?!?!? Dude, that's sick! :w00t:
LOL

As a parent, you always need to be ready to follow through on any threat that you make. And the sooner you do it, the sooner the kids learn. So you mean I should do it with my baby girl? She's 9 months old, it couldn't be any sooner than this... 😉
BTW, yesterday she said "Mamma" as her first word ever. My wife melted like snow.
Well, if you're making threats where you expect her to change her behaviour, maybe your wife needs to be threatening you!:w00t:

I refuse to dignify that with a comment that I have edited to make Lynn curious.

Okay, I have read ahead and will heed the warnings. I'll stop.Thanks. It is the only way to get certain people to stop.
Only until the next Gibraltar steps over the line, but I'll try to keep it short.
Sometimes you got to do what you got to do.
Just sometimes you find yourself being egged on and you just keep going even though you know you shouldn't.
I have no problems with anything you said. I also agree that sometimes enough is enough and you have to put out a verbal tongue lashing.
It's exhausting to have so many negative waves from a Gibraltar type person.

That is cool.
My baby girl just said Mamma too, and same effect from my wife. However, the first word from all my kids was "Dadda" - and yes, same effect for Dad.
