Second - do you use the SSMSToolsPack? It has a code snippet feature, where you type in an abbreviation and the predefined code is entered in the code window. It comes with a WTF predefined for use... seems like it would be useful to you today!
I use SQLPrompt. It's 'yell' snippet fits with my feelings for the day.

By the way Gail, you're frustrated right now, and 100% justifiably so, but remember you are not the slave, you're the expert. The folks who work every day for that company and don't have the ability to leave are the slaves. While they're taking up your time and giving you stress, eventually you will be able to move on.
Sincerely,

Perhaps Gail could practice some archery in view of the office. Maybe aim for low down on the torso ๐

Sounds like it's time for my old L.A.R.T. tool. Take one whiffleball bat. One garbage bag. Fill garbage bag about 1/5 of the way with packing peanuts. Insert whiffle bat, and squish around bat removing air until you have Captain Caveman style club. Duct Tape vigorously.
Smack manager vigorously.
Repeat as necessary, or until out of packing peanuts. ๐
Never stop learning, even if it hurts. Ego bruises are practically mandatory as you learn unless you've never risked enough to make a mistake.

New office game.
Requires 1 dartboard, 1 set of darts, 1 project plan.
Cut up project plan by milestones. Paste lesser milestones around the edges of the dartboard ring, paste the bigger milestones close to the center. Repeat until all milestones are on board with deadline in the center (bullseye).
Every time someone adds a scope change, skewer a milestone. Practice your dart tossing (no minimum distance) on the deadline. Skewer it as much as possible to work out your frustration with the current project.
When PM asks how project is going, say "What project? I don't have a comprehensive project plan." (Because it's no longer comprehensive. It's skewered to death.)
Assign points (and adult beverage shots) as needed.

On a side note (switching subjects).
Two batches of brown rice made in the new rice cooker. Both my wife and daughter like the brown rice, which has come out wonderfully.
First batch made late, left overnight. Was still hot and fine for lunch. I did add about a tbsp of water before I went to bed.
Second batch this morning, started while making coffee at 6:30am. Tastes great now (1:00pm) and I didn't have to watch a pot.

This is not answering your question, but have you looked at Report Builder 3.x?

And just when I thought the project I'm on couldn't get any worse..We're officially in UAT, though both the front-end dev and I are still developing. Had a meeting with the business users yesterday to demo the half of the system that was working. Business users came up with a long list of changes they want, none of which were in the spec.
I take a look over the list and, of the 4 that impact me, rate 2 as moderate-difficult and 2 as minor, but comment that I can't give a time impact until I've had a chance to analyse a bit better. The front end dev rates 1 as medium, estimating a week's work, and the rest as minor
This morning, in project meeting, project manager announces that we will be implementing all but one of those changes before the original project deadline (2 weeks away)
WT!@#$%$#^*&^^$%???????
Based on your situation and the "Three Choices" (take it, change it or leave it) I guess you're stuck with the first option (and a minor chance for the 2nd one).
As much as it su**s, you need to deal with it.
Maybe it's an option to implement the two minor changes and show that you started on the third one. I'm sure you know better but there might be a small chance to either get rid of the last change or at least to postpone it.
Or, like my boss used to say: "If you need to swallow an elephant: slice it!" (It might have a different interpretation down there in SA thought ๐ )

Not yet, why? Planning on it, as we get a lot of similar requests from some of our business units, and I'll bet they'd dig it.

From what I heard it simplifies report building. It's also a separate download, which might make it a much easier install. ๐

Iโm not exactly sure when it happened, but somewhere along the line, the job of โproject managementโ deteriorated into the art of parroting whatever irrational fantasy that business management comes up with.
It forces projects to exist in a fantasy world where 6 more months of work will somehow get done in the next 2 weeks, including new, incomplete requirements that will not be defined for another month..
When the โgo liveโ deadline arrives in 2 weeks, the projects transitions to a maintenance project to clean up the bugs and add a few enhancements (in other words, complete the original project), while a steady stream of new enhancements and bug fixes arrive faster than old ones get completed, all while claiming that everything will be finished in 2 weeks.
There are still a few of the old school project managers out there who know what they are doing, but most seem to be worse than worthless.
