Are the posted questions getting worse?

  • In a deliberate attempt to change topic, has anyone ever tried Sun Chips with hummus?

I'm freaking addicted to the combo.

No I've not, but as with anything else It Depends. Stale chips and good hummus or good chips and bad hummus both make very unappetizing combinations. My personal favorite is a joint in Pittsburgh that takes homemade pita pockets cuts them into wedges and fries them like you would a potato or corn chip. When fresh they make a very nice clean and tasty conveyor of any kind of dip including hummus.

For those with the ability to recreate I really would suggest you try it.

Of course they get even better when you add bacon 😉

Thanks. I shall decline to comment on PASS further at this time.

PASS' loss. I'm shocked. It is their loss and they probably don't realize it.

I've been considering joining PASS for a while and getting more involved with the community. This seals the deal for me not to join PASS. An organization that cannot take a little criticism from a revered community leader isn't and organization I want to associate with.

Trey, please don't let this totally sour you on PASS. PASS needs fresh blood to make the changes necessary to keep this from happening again. See my latest blog post, http://goo.gl/fb/K8PLw, for my reaction and thoughts on what the community needs to do.

Sorry Jason, you won't have the option. You'll be presented with the 5 candidates and asked to choose 3. I suppose you could only vote for 2, but then you wouldn't have input on the 3rd person because not everyone will agree on who the 2 should be and the election is just top 3 are elected.

  • You could always choose an empty ballot paper... 🙂

I am shocked... and I was planning to put some time into pass as volunteer. I will have to think about it again.

Somebody told me that PASS is very political and that is why he has no intention to run in the board. I guess I understand what he meant. And I hate politics....

Roy and any other Threadizens having the same thoughts,

Withdrawing is not the answer. As I said in my last post on the Thread, see my latest blog post, http://goo.gl/fb/K8PLw, for my reaction and thoughts on what the community needs to do.

If we, the people who want change, withdraw then the other side wins. We have to continue to speak up and challenge the organization to change. Over the last year the community has forced change on the board because we have spoken out and challenged their decisions. Matt Morrola in the election last year and we got changes to the process and more transparency, not releasing the results of the Summit survey - we got the results and more transparency, keeping the Summit in Seattle - we haven't won this one yet, but we got SQLRally. If we had chosen to withdraw then no changes would have happened.

The answer is to engage, not withdraw. Go on the offensive and let the people who DID make the slate know what you want.

Quite Simple. Take a Sharpie and cross out the names you don't want and write in the ones you do 😉

I thought it was supposed to be decline to comment :-D;-)

That raises an interesting issue - would one serve if the community wanted it but the board did not?

Also, has the Slate been released?

  • Both Jack and Steve are out. The others are all there. There are couple of strong candidates but I really do not agree with the points awarded. I saw the transcript of the first interview. I was surprised when I saw the points awarded.

Anyways, wishing the candidates the best. Steve and Jack, I am sorry to that the two of you did not make it.
