Unofrtunately haven't really worked with W2K3 yet. My suspicion is that there is truly network issues here, possibly the overhead of more authentication or load from the 2003 system.

That shouldn't be the problem. We have been patched and all of my servers (including a few that are TCPIP only) still work.
I'd check that something else didn't get changed.

No effect. The events are still written to the SQL log. If you have configured events to write to the NT log, they will not be written.

There are two ways.
1. There is copy logins task in DTS. This is the one that looks like a server with a person in front of it.

This is the only product that I know of. Nothing will read selects as they are not logged.
