  • RE: Browsing packages stored in MSDB

I found two possible tables, but the data there is mostly hex and non-readable. I'll take your profiler suggestion and see if I can figure it out. But somehow I...

  • RE: format date within reporting services

Apjchandresh, you're misunderstanding what they're asking for. The format is already MMDDYYYY. They're trying to reverse the day & the month so Day is listed first.

  • RE: Is Microsoft Certification Becoming Worthless?

Exception to the rule speaking here.

The worth of a certification truly depends on how one goes about obtaining it. You can't just blanketly say that everyone who gets one is...

You do realize that NA doesn't speak English as a first language right? And that (s)he might not understand exactly what the NDA means or what you just told him/her...

  • RE: Error starting debugging. (Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.VsIntegration)

BIDS is Visual Studio. What version of that are you using? (You didn't say).

If you haven't done this already... Save your package, close the project, then exit BIDS. Open it...

  • RE: Error starting debugging. (Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.VsIntegration)

Are you running the package in BIDS or SSMS or in a command line?

If SSMS, are you Executing the package directly or using a job?

    If a job, what type...

  • RE: Error starting debugging. (Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.VsIntegration)

I wonder if there's a bug in one of the components.

What versions / service packs are all of you using?

  • RE: Sr SQL Server DBA title....Jr DBA responsibilities???

I doubt that will happen. Remember that SA in this case means server admin, not SysAdmin (SQL Server speak) and that they are using a third party tool. That third...

  • RE: Is Microsoft Certification Becoming Worthless?

For me, the certs were worth it because I had no RL paid experience in IT when I went for my DBA jobs. Now I use it to upgrade my...

  • RE: Did I do the right thing?

Get an exact list of your expected duties. Then do yourself a favor and do a little extra.

It wouldn't hurt to create database backups and transaction log backups through...

  • RE: Space() double-pads Varchar (but not always)

Ahhh. You know what? Someone patched my server without telling me.

QC is running version 9.00.2153 and Prod is running version 9.00.3233 (not in Steve's Build List at [/url]). We're not...

  • RE: Space() double-pads Varchar (but not always)

Ansi Padding is unchecked on both servers.
