  • RE: You'd think I'd have learned...

    Ray K (9/14/2011)

True story: a few weeks ago, I was administering a final exam (I teach part-time). One of my students asked a question. It went something like...

  • RE: BIDS - Uncouple Variables and Toolbox

You rock, Dave23! Your Google-Fu is superior to mine.

That actually worked. I moved my Toolbox and no error when I closed BIDS. I open it up and it's exactly where...

  • RE: BIDS - Uncouple Variables and Toolbox

After experimenting several times, I finally noticed a pattern. If I close BIDS out as normal (without moving the Toolbox), everything shuts down fine, no issues.

    If I move the Toolbox...

  • RE: BIDS ForEach Enumerator is Blank

    HowardW (9/9/2011)

Actually, this is definitely a UI bug. It looks like it's selected when you create a new one, but it's not behind the scenes.

    Are you having the same...

  • RE: BIDS ForEach Enumerator is Blank

    Howard, that's brilliant! It worked.

Thank you so very much. I was about to start developing in 2005 and then upgrade.

  • RE: BIDS - Uncouple Variables and Toolbox

And yet, it's not permanent. The Toolbox keeps moving back to the bottom of my screen when I restart VS.

    This is annoying!

  • RE: Mass Add of SSRS Columns

Bleargh. I hate using the Wizard. It always gets things wrong.

Edit: Thanks for the suggestion, though.

  • RE: How to ensure a job only runs for a set duration?

So far as I know, you can't.

You could test rebuilding various indexes, though, and break the job up into smaller parts, only running one of those parts each day. That...

  • RE: SSIS Error in Job

    Jack Corbett (9/8/2011)

You don't have a package configuration somewhere that is overwriting the design-time value do you? It sounds like that could be it since having a different name...

  • RE: SSIS Error in Job

Already saw that MSDN post last week. As I mentioned it in the first post of this thread, I didn't find anything when I searched for it.

    Unfortunately, I can't...

  • RE: Are the posted questions getting worse?

Best wishes for your father, Jack. I know how you feel. I have close relatives who trip just by looking at a corner and are breaking all sorts of things...

  • RE: SSIS Error in Job

I've narrowed it down to a name change issue.

If I leave the connection manager named ServerName.DatabaseName, it stays as the 10 client. But as soon as I remove the servername...

  • RE: SSIS Error in Job

    You just lost me.

The SSIS package is being developed on my local box, then loaded up to the Server that it is run on. My local box is 32 bit....

  • RE: Yeah! my first real corrupt DB

    SQL 2008 SP1

    Msg 3316, Level 21, State 2, Line 135

During undo of a logged operation in database 'Remi', an error occurred at log record ID (101945:2157:177). The row was...

  • RE: SSIS Error in Job

Okay, I did find that setting, prvmine. Changed it. Saved the project, uploaded the package and the job failed again with the same error.

So I checked out the package, saved...
