Are the posted questions getting worse?

  • Hey gang...

I'm having a weird issue. I can run a select * from a view from SSMS, no problem. Web site can't run it, and can't open the view from SSMS (right click, select open view)... get timeout message. Details at http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/FindPost828497.aspx.

All help appreciated! It's stumping us.

  • For the right position, I'd consider moving, but not to California. I have no desire to live there.

  • Gus, best of luck and hope things keep going through the holidays. Definitely sounds bad, and I know I'd be looking if that happened at RG.

  • Can someone keep an eye on this one please. I'm not going to be around much this weekend

This isn't the right thread for technical questions. I'd move it to one of the usual forums.

Edit: Never mind. I'm distracted. Didn't even notice the link the post. You did exactly what I was suggesting.

  • Best of Luck Gus. Same sentiment as the others - sounds like a sinking ship to me.

True, but it is a good thread to point out to others that help is needed elsewhere, even if he the one looking for help. How many times have we, the denizens of The Thread come here ask for help elsewhere? 😉

  • Good luck Gus, its always worse when you feel you have been forced into a move.

You know what? I'm distracted enough that I didn't even notice the main body of the question was linked to.

I did post on another forum. After 18 hrs with no responses, I posted here to draw more attention to it (with only a brief description of it here), with a link to the other forum.

Yeah, my mistake on this one. You already did what I was suggesting.

    Fair enough. NP.

Best of luck with your situation Gus. Definitely something not needed, especially at holiday time (puts a damper on everything else).

Gus has already mentioned that he did not pay full attention towards the post.

It's understandable, considering the position Gus is in.

All the Best Gus ! I hope a better and bigger opportunity is waiting for you. 🙂 🙂
