Why are you digging by hand? You could rent a 2-4" trencher that would cut through all that in a short few minutes, maybe an hour at most.

There is an existing pipe, so I have to be careful. I used the tractor to dig along the pipe and loosen gravel, but there's still hand work to clean around the pipe.

Bah. Just do it the easy way. Put dynamite around it. Light the fuse. Enjoy putting your driveway back together. @=)

While you lot were having fun, camping and cooking, I was out slaving in the driveway, replacing drain pipe. Digging through gravel is not fun.

It looks like it's just a pipe for a french style landscaping drain. At least it's not the drain pipe from your toilet that's clogged up.

I can't tell if he's simply not aware of what he's typing or if he actually had a bit of a clue and was hoping someone would contradict him and say "Why, yes, you CAN do that."

    EDIT: Adding missing words.

  • You know what I just realized I want on this forum?

A way to tag individual posts. Not a thread, posts within the thread. For instance, there are several "discussions" in this particular thread where I want to tag things like book recommendations or recipes. And because I can't add a post to the briefcase, I have to search and search and search and hope I get close to the right pages to find it.

Of course, if there's a way to do it and I'm just clueless today, I would love for someone to point me in the correct direction of how to do so.

Watercooler talk or Teacher's Lounge, except we're not elitist enough to restrict it to only a certain group.
