Are the posted questions getting worse?

I'm sorry, is there any country that can give me good news?

Yes, for a change we do. Our High Court has ruled that the appeal against the president's corruption charges be dismissed with costs. There's pretty much no avenue left to him now to avoid facing those 700 odd charges of corruption dating from 2009.

700 charges of corruption? :w00t: Wow! If he manages to get out of the country, may he has a future in politics elsewhere. πŸ˜‰

700 and some odd. I rounded down.

Maybe if we can get rid of him we might not get our loan rating downgraded again.

I'm sorry, is there any country that can give me good news? It seems that Mexico, US and UK are full of negative news and I'm getting grumpy and sarcastic (more than usual).

  • Reading the comments on an article on another site (UK-based tech site) and it feels like I'm reading the comment section on just about any US-based site about some of our politics...

Anyone want to pool all of our financial resources, buy up a small-ish (I'm thinking a couple square miles) island somewhere in the South Pacific or the Caribbean and then declare ourselves the sovereign nation of DBMS?

The only requirement I'd have is, under no circumstances can I be elected as the leader...

Count me in. We'd need to have electricity and really good internet service. πŸ˜€

Well, let's see, electricity, we'd have several giant hamster wheels hooked up to generators and storage batteries (which would also help keep everyone in shape, everyone puts in equal time on the wheels,) internet we just make sure to pick an island near one of the big trans-oceanic backbones and get tapped into that.

I'd have suggest something like solar or wind for the power, but why despoil our lovely island when we can go the Gilligan route instead...

Excellent - now all we have to do is solve the water, food and shelter problems and we'd be good to go.

    I FOUND AN ISLAND!!

    Yeah, but Iceland?

I mean, I'm sure it's a nice place and all, if you can deal with the occasional volcano, but I was thinking someplace where you could loaf around all day in a Speedo, year-round...

    :hehe:

Not that I know of, I got nothing good to try and cheer anyone up unless you enjoy others peoples misery. All I'll say is I should be with my daughter and this next week is going to be a long one before I can get out to where she is right now.

That will probably fill up very quickly, depends on what kind of compression they are using though:-D
