Does anyone think my response here was over-the-top?http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/FindPost999124.aspxNo, what makes you think it might have been?
Reading over it after I posted it read (to me) almost like a tirade rather than an explanation.
The misconceptions concerning shrinking versus truncating logs might make for a better '2sday' blog post than 'truncate table cannot be rolled back'. Both have been covered very many times, and yet both persist...:(
I've written twice on that already (blog post and article). Not touching it again (until it's time to rewrite my tran log article here). If you want it, take it. I have 3 table variable myths targeted.
So many good articles for 2sday coming from the thread today.
How about the myth about DBCC Timewarp?

I just checked. Almost everything in the db for forums is an int, so we're fine.
As an FYI, we have about 5GB of data in the forum database.

Wow, loading data into Access from SQL Server through SSIS is a Royal PITA.

LOL
I haven't had to face that yet so I can't comment, well, looks like I just did.

That sentence is WAY too long:

You've got me there!
You know, the older versions of Access were at least usable (from 2 on). I haven't had to touch 2007 before this job and it is like Microsoft decided it was too useful or that the target audience was a bunch of brain damaged tapirs.

Anyone interested in tackling the 'truncate table is not logged and cannot be rolled back' myth for this month's T-SQL tuesday? That sounds like a fun one, unless you have dibs already...
No, I'm debunking 3 table variable myths.

... I have 3 table variable myths targeted.Did I cover them in my article[/url]? If not, I'd love to know what you have, so that I can enhance it (and add it to the presentation that I'm making on this article!).
Two yes, one no, though I'm planning to debunk one of the ones you did in a very different way.

I think that's because nobody ever considered that this was a possibility. Why are you being forced to do this?
