I'm not sure I got the order of operation there correct. Do you check that it's the correct DB before or after dropping it?
The order is not that critical if you have DBCC TimeWarp installed. π

Has anyone ever picked up the DVD from PASS Summit? Does it have all 150+ sessions recorded, or is it just one DVD with select sessions or just presentation files? All sessions, video, presenter's voice and desktop capture, plus ppt files.
It's not a DVD. The 2008 one was 6 DVDs
I think the 2008 set takes up something like 32 gigs on my HD.

I always found the time to check was 'During'. Gave me the most interesting results. π

Yes - I have the DVD packs for a couple summits. I sometimes throw them in at work and listen to them as background noise while working on something.
Worthwhile investment.

I'd agree, but the duration for drop database is so short there isn't even time to reflect on the meaning of life.

Thus why it was interesting!
Boss: "Did you remove database Alpha2"
Me: "I think so!"
Boss: "Wait, whut?"
Me: "Well, it was only on the screen for a second. It was Alpha something. Should be good enough. If not we'll try again."
Boss: *facepalm* "Oh, gods..."

Delete the wrong database and you might have to reflect on a whole lot of things. Actually, someone might make sure that you do. :w00t:

That's why you use "mirroring", right? To help with the reflecting?

I thought mirroring was supposed to be used as a deflector?

Thanks Gail, Alvin and Jason. Seems very much like a no-brainer. I went through to figure out which sessions I wanted to attend and very quickly realized the value of the DVD set - glad to know it is everything.
THanks,
Chad

I've got two questions:
1. Is this available to folks that didn't attend?
2. What is the URL to order? (I can't find it at sqlpass.org)
Thanks,

Thanks,
I went bounding through the intertubes when they mentioned this, and I found it at the 2009 official site. (PASS summit 2009 - google, don't have the url handy).
It's $595 if you didn't attend, $195 if you did.
