I will be sending an email to my members regarding the next topic they would like to see in T-SQL. That I think is the best way to find out what they would like to hear.Add a paragraph in that email encouraging them to think about presenting. Hopefully that will work better there than here.
In the short one year since our chapter has been operating, we had 4 members presenting as well. It has not been that bad in that area.:-)

We've had 4 members presenting. Only two of those were not group leaders. I did 2, 12 months apart, and it looks like I may have to this month's also. That'll be 2 in a row for me.

Depending on how many members you could use google docs to do a survey. Very easy to do. I don't know if you can do that in the MS Office online offering (don't even know what they call it).

Roy, I believe there are some poll services at PollMonkey that you can use for free.
Or maybe you ought to make this a part of your regular meeting. Get people to talk about what they'd like to hear.

SurveyMonkey is free , i believe. Looks easy enough to use.

I know we're discussing this here because we're often here and this is like our chat room, but this really belongs in the PASS leaders' forum, where more group leaders could benefit from it.

No one uses that forum. That is the only problem. If you want to get good insight, this is the place to discuss. Maybe we should ask the chapter leaders to come here so that we can discuss. We get a better audience... LOL

I know what you mean about the PASS forum Roy. We need to find a way to fix that.
We'd certainly get a better audience here. Just the group leaders in the Thread is probably a better audience already. 🙂 🙁

This is one of those chicken and the egg situations. We need to use it to make it relevant, but we don't use it because it isn't relevant.
I know I don't think of the chapter leaders forums because I know so many chapter leaders are on SSC and sometimes we get going as a side discussion.

A few of us could help increase it's visibility simply by tweeting anything new we find in there. It would also help if we added itmes in there first.

Local news: Lots of changes on 1 October. GST went up, income tax came down, and Internet bandwidth increased to 15Mbps from 10Mbps. And I'm moving house. How much is GST increasing by? We're planning a tour of both islands for next year and had all of the hotel, fuel bills and suchlike budgeted. If we have to increase it all by a large percentage then I'm selling some of the kid's organs.
Sell them anyway... you're already a brain donor! 😀

I'd donate my brain to science if they would agree to come retrieve it immediately. 😛

Looks gorgeous. I envy you your view!Maybe, but you wouldn't have envied me and Justin carrying a sofa and six-burner BBQ up the stairs this morning. Comedy.
You should have carried them one at a time, that's your problem....
