The 2004 SQLServerCentral.com Reader's Choice Awards

Once again we're letting the community decide which products and which vendors are the most used by DBAs around the world. We had quite a bit of good feedback last year and so we're hoping that things go even better this year. Why do we do these?

You, the DBAs, developers, the ones that use these products found it useful to see what others are using. Perhaps you are looking to purchase a tool, or replace one you're not happy with. Seeing what others like and don't like is one way to determine which products and vendors you might like to work with.

Vendors like it for two reasons. One they get some bragging rights, and let's face it, bragging rights are fun 🙂

But it also shows them if they're doing a good job, if their products are well liked and used. Or maybe they see whose products are doing well and work harder to improve their own offerings. It can be a double edged sword, but most of us agree that having a bit more information is better than having less.
