That might help. Maybe use a CASE and return a 1 when IS_MEMBER() works in either case, or nothing otherwise.

Either way should work. I sometimes put the tags in, then the code. Sometimes the other way. Both seem to work, and occasionally, both fail miserably.

Definitely deprecated, but I know there are systems using these and you might run into an older, or upgraded, system. Hence my decision to build a few questions.
