I don't think that you can do this. You can run Profiler and capture only the failed logins. I think that will get the hostname in it if submitted.

I don't think there is anyhting you can decode without them.

Are you using Enterprise Manager or QA and TSQL? Enterprise Manager sometimes doesn't work, but sp_dropuser should.

They should be in syspackages in msdb. Check that table to see if they are there. The reinstall could have possibly overwritten the database. Do you have a backup?
