Express allows 10GB. You can test it there. It will just stop you from adding more data

Do you have any way of determining what is the "correct" row to keep? Is there a PK, and can you provide some DDL for the table?

The GUI has issues, and "remembering" previous files is one.
I would stick with .bak and .trn, just so that no one is confused.
