Did you have any luck looking elsewhere online? I haven't experienced it, but I was hoping the bootstrap/error logs will help.

Actually found out they enabled windows firewall on the server so couldn't go out (oops) Thanks Lynn.

Why do you think it's a space issue? Has it been successful in the past?
Are you using standard maintenance plan built by SQL Server?
