    Based on the above, my understanding is that you can access the reports via the ReportServer URL but not via the Reports URL... is this still the case?

    Not to detract from XML, but from a programmer's perspective you better also learn JSON as well since some databases (MongoDB, CouchDB, Persevere) and services/frameworks are leaning in that...
