I think so... just remember that it's NOT geared specifically to T-SQL (MS SQL Server dialect of SQL).

Additionally, instead of using subqueries, try to rewrite the sentence using CTE.
Why? Other than readability, it's not going to perform any better... it's just an inline view either...

I believe that Andrew pretty much has it. The only shortcoming would be turning it into a matrix. You only need a Cross-Tab for that...
