the backups also had holes in them...the most recent set that is usable was from ten days ago.

Thanks a lot, that's kind of what I did to get here, iow, I did a row_number over partition by my assertion of uniqueness. There were about eight hundred failures...

Yes, it was a dopey way to conceptualize the implementation and the product needs to be a web service.
