There are other possible show stoppers. Linked servers and queries that use OPENDATASOURCE / OPENROWSET. Make sure you account for all possible objects that have references to these...

Try deleting the Linked Server and recreating it. Sometimes that's the only thing that can help in situations like this.

Make sure your font sizes are also all the same. This is another issue that can cause line up problems between subreports and main reports.
Not that it helped me...

All the above suggestions are assuming you've already installed SQL Server with the wrong collation.
If you haven't installed it yet, you can change the collation during the install...
