    I tried to shrink the database but it wont budge.

    Why will it be this side if there is so much free space? Do you need to maintain this DB...

    The person who posted the question should have specified environment. I didn't have to run the code to know the VALUES statement wouldn't work in 2005. Therefore, I chose "Error"...

    Is it possible the server team could go back and restore the .mdf from their backup procedures?

    I would check/ask if they have "volume shadow copy" enabled on the server....
