  • RE: Where do you look for DBA's?

I've heard both good and bad things about both Tek and RH. Even worked for RH for two contracts before I found my current full time position. As in all...

  • RE: Where do you look for DBA's?

Looking over the job description, it definitely sounds like a "One Stop Shop" type of job where there will be maybe one or two DBAs tasked with doing everything.

Have you tried announcing it at a local users group meeting? If I needed to hire someone or was looking for a job myself, I'd be sure...

  • RE: Are the posted questions getting worse?

I blogged once about who watches the watchers. Apparently, it really is becoming a big thing lately.

  • RE: IS PROBLEM WITH SEVER LEVEL SETIING

Is "id" perhaps a user created data type that doesn't exist on the new server?

EDIT: I ask because I've never seen unique(id) as proper column name before. It looks more...

  • RE: send sms from sql server 2005 using smpp

    SMS?

Not sure what you mean by that. Could you translate for those of us who aren't coders?

  • RE: Reporting services in sql server 2005

Reporting Services is a separate tool. I don't believe it comes with Express. You have to go download it with the Advanced Services.

  • RE: Date table not in cube

GAH. My boss figured it out.

Had to go into Dimension Usage on the cube screen, right click in the "white space" and add new cube dimension.

    But I don't know why...

  • RE: Indexes

The Missing Index feature of SQL Server is just recommendations by the server and is not necessarily something to follow. Sometimes, based on bad statistics and other stuff, it can...

    subha.mcts2005 (1/19/2011)

I am asking why indexes are missing?

As the others have indicated, you need to give us more information. How did you find out indexes were missing? What process, error...

  • RE: DB backup to network drive

    Ditto to Lynn's comment.

I've found that if there's network connectivity disruption during a file move, that the connection on my side doesn't necessarily know that it's been broken. So the...

  • RE: Indexes

I'm not sure I understand the question. Did you actually create the indexes? If so, are you sure they actually created and didn't just error out?
