It wasn't the SQL Login's problem at all. The website uses a domain account to access SQL Server and that domain account didn't have proper permissions...

I don't know how it works in other RDBMS, but in SQL Server, the identity function prevents you from inserting new numbers unless you specifically tell SQL that you're inserting...
