How to Drop the DB wich is presently replicating

    Hi ,

    I need to drop the Recovred DB from old backup file, I mistakenly given the Option like Preserve Replications and With Replication, option while Restoring the DB, now its not allowing me to Drop the DB,

    Giving Error:Cannot Drop the DB cause its being Used for Replication.

    Please advice the Safeway.

    DB ison MSSQL 2008R2

    Can you not remove replication? Drop the subscribers? Drop the publications?

    Last time I had to do something like this I needed to change the properties of the distributor too. Easy enough though.

    recreate the publication and then remove it. then proceed to drop the db.
