Very nice words, Steve. I have spent some time thinking about those who've I've known and who left the places we worked together. I remember former coworkers and friends of the past. There's a lot of good memories. But there is sadness, because it seems like people just forget about those who gave so much to the organization, but have left. I find it so sad that people forget as if those who've left and their impact wasn't important or relevant. I realize that when I leave, eventually no one will care. And that is both sad and very weird.
So, one thing I'll say, especially about SQL Server Central, is the memorial you have for people of the past who've have passed away. That is rare, very rare. I'm so glad that I'm a part of this community.

In the past year, I've reconnected with some ex-colleagues from decades ago whom I thought I'd never see again.
It has been both a surprise and a pleasure.

I've missed lots of people from the past, and some I still keep in touch with.
I'm hoping to see Annabel again in Aug, or on a future trip.
