Are the posted questions getting worse?

After skimming through it, paying a bit more attention to the posts from you-know-who, I would have to suggest that any further pain resulting from interaction with that particular human could be considered self-inflicted. At least a couple of times, she posted a typically brief (though not concise, which is one major difference between her style and "Broadcast Journalism English") response, and closed with a dismissive "Have a nice day".

After the second such supercillious remark, I would think it entirely appropriate to ignore any of her further attempts to stir things up.

The part that was annoying to me was the persistent lack of respect and "show me your credentials." As if none of us were qualified to speak to her about the topic. Don't treat people, that I respect, like a bunch of hooligans that deserve no respect.

She never posted hers. Also I found a couple of post where she can write in English when she wants to. I think Rbarry was right many pages back with his analisys.

I'm very much in agreement with you John. I think that everyone needs to just ignore her posts.

That being said, on my way home tonight, I was wondering if it's possible to set up a private, only invited guests type of thread... but you never know what nugget someone not invited would give that would make all the difference. So, just ignore. If you don't respond to her, she'll eventually go away.

I only partially agree there. I am probably in a losing battle with this. But I want to hear if she has something constructive to say. She throws crap out and when you disprove it, she changes the crap launcher to a different story. I think she is running out of it. And I am curious, does anybody recall an intent to racially discriminate or discriminate based on gender from anybody other than her?

Typical of someone losing a battle to throw out the race card and say you are against me because I am <pick your race and or gender>. When the facts are against you, that's what you do to deflect whatever else may be said.

Remember, she once accused me of being condescending as well.

If she thinks that was condescending, wait until I get my engine fired up :w00t::w00t: 😉

  • Just being curious: How close is that particular behavior of that specific person to be qualified as being a Troll? (disclaimer: limited to that particular thread due to the lack of further evidence)

The subject itself is interesting. The disturbance is not.

I know of two other threads involving her here at SSC with the same behavior.

What i am curious about is how did she become a Moderator at MSDN with that kind of behavior.

Aww, isn't Jason the lucky one? Do you think it's possible to tap into that and get her to ignore the rest of us on that thread?:Whistling:

Funny how it works. I want her to discuss - she ignores me. You don't want her to discuss and she pulls the show me proof paragraph each time.

I think she is ignoring Lynn too.

I wonder if she will ignore Jeff and Grant as well?

  • Right now we're just guessing regarding her(his?) identity.

As long as there is no proof that we're talking about the same person I'm not going to make such an assumption.

It might still be possible to create a "CirquedeSQLeil" handle on one of the other SQL Server sites. If I'd do it someone might get confused about the sunken level of English not to talk about the dropped level of SQL code...

  • Just took another look at that disastrous "discussion". I have to say I feel genuinely sad for that person. She apparently has trouble distinguishing her world-view from that of other people. It's a skill that comes to some later in life and to some not at all. She tipped that hand with her stereotyping of people from different parts of Italy, showing that she has generalized complex human characteristics based on simple criteria without considering the vast spectrum of attitudes, personalities, familial traditions or anything else.

To her, the Milanese are aloof. To her, since in her experience there are more white men working with MS-SQL, everyone participating in that conversation is a "white man". To her, white men don't respect or value the contributions of a black women. Ergo, any request in that thread for her to clarify her meaning is perceived as another white man telling the black woman to run along. She is so caught up in seeing herself as a victim of racial and gender discrimination that she played that "card" with virtually no chance that anyone knew or cared if she was black.

It would take more than a few gentle exchanges of ideas and suggestions to break through her self-centered wall of prejudice. I would hope for her sake she learns the lesson of acceptance of diversity and how to hear ideas instead of the noise she's got turned up on her information channels.

How terribly, terribly sad for her. And I say that will all sincerity.

No, actually she's doing her Monty Python imitation.

Keeps posting the same post in every response.

no worries there - I think you would be quite proficient enough at it.

I posted her linkedin profile to that thread. Check it out.

  • Finally got caught up, both here and in the "Missing" thread. I tried to tell y'all last week to just ignore the interruptions and go on with the substantive discussion. Simple attention from others (not being acknowledged as being "right") is what rewards and encourages poor behavior. Rarely will people behaving badly suddenly have a change of heart and mind and admit their error.

A couple of humorous asides, because c'mon it's a Monday:
