Lynn, you opened up a big old can.Neck and head hurt, don't care. 😛
Sometimes the truth hurts. I really need to start posting on my Geek for President blog I set up and haven't used.
Actually, I really had a different comment this morning but I bit my tongue and didn't say it, getting personal would have been down right WRONG of me.
Wrong or not, you're a better man than I am Gunga Lynn.
I avoid conversations like that with close friends, let alone getting sucked into them online with a proven....... excitable person. You've got guts, as does everyone else that engages over there.
I've been tempted to post there, but it won't make anyone look good. I also don' think anybody really cares about my political views. I just wonder how many people are have actually read the U.S. Constitution? Based on the way our country is run now, I'd say not too many.
And not just who has read, or not, the Constitution, but how much REAL history have they read? Not the pablum peddled in elementary school and not the politically motivated bits and pieces handed out in different studies programs, but honest to gosh history. Because WAY too many people say stuff that is just factually wrong, but there's no arguing with them because they got it from Teacher X or Speaker Y or Activist Z and therefore, it's gospel. Again, I avoid this stuff because it just leads to upset, but I do admire those that dive in.

Love the parody.
Perhaps we need more discussions like this, between close friends and even strangers. Maybe that is part of the problem with our government today. Everyone thinks that only government can solve our problems, and we have stopped looking to the real source of power, the people.
We have allowed professional politicians to take over what should belong to the people. Perhaps it is time for new revolution here in the States, not an armed one, but one at the ballot box. A grass roots effort to get rid of the professional politician and put real people into Congress and the White House (as well as into state and local governments) people that know what we are all experiencing every day.
I personally believe that politicians today have lost touch with those the purport to represent. All they are truly interested in is getting elected and staying elected. And telling us what is best for us.

I think that statement is 95% accurate. There has got to be at least one senator at the federal level and some representatives that don't fall into that category. Now, how long they remain idealistic like that is the variable. But i think there are some.

Not really a basketball fan, but I see what you are trying to do, changing the subject from politics. 😉

I know enough about basketball to teach kids to dribble, pass, and shoot. Tactics, maybe man-to-man defense at a limited level.
I can play pick-up basketball when the body is able.
Beyond that, I don't even watch it. I have been to a couple AFA games when I got free tickets.

I'd go to the Globetrotters, other than that, I'd probably hock the tickets. To my family, 'cause they're all sports nuts.

Well, not actually. I thought I had double posted due to connection issues. I was wrong but the edit was done.
However, it is a good change nonetheless.

Actually, it was a couple of free tickets that my oldest daughters had to an AFA Basketball game that got them hooked on AFA Hockey. Those tickets also got them entry to an AFA Hockey game that was played after the AFA Basketball game.
