Somewhat off-topic (to the topic that is currently off-topic, that is):IIRC someone who frequents the Thread writes fiction - have I imagined this? Any pointers as to who it might be? I've started writing fiction myself (short stories/flash fiction can be found in the link in my sig), would be useful to "meet" others who have been bitten by the same bug!
Yeah... uh, Gabby I think. Nuts I can't find it. She writes pirate tales. That much I remember but I'm spacing her name. I'm sure I'll receive a beating later for that.

I have lost my Zenlike tranquility and need to join Lynn for a walk in the desert.
Am I just being grumpy or does the OPs last reply here betray a bad attitude?

Since most of the denizens of The Thread are not on Twitter, I should spread the word here as well. In my absolute dictatorial power as no one of consequence, I have declared Wednesday at the PASS Summit this year to be Kilt Day.
Be sure & wear one.

I haven't worn a kilt since the last time I was in a wedding. It's a good feeling, and sporrans come in damn handy. Are they available for rent locally?

Actually, just went down to Rend Lake and skipped a few rocks with my girls. We are currently in Illinois on our trip to Fort Jackson, SC.

Well, I guess it's a good thing my financing to make it to PASS fell through. NOBODY wants to see me in a kilt! If they think they do, they'd change their minds (after clawing their eyeballs out).

Yes, but yes. 😉
Interesting approach to implementing something, I can see using that 'get it running and walk away' strategy on a class, if you forgot about it until the last minute or something, but as an actual business practice?
Maybe this is one of those plank bridges Gus was talking about...
