Good game Steve???Err, yeah. Sorry. Too much online gaming lately.
On the plus side, an online play-by-post roleplaying game is better than nothing and can be a lot of fun (albeit slow). Still want to start up a tabletop game sometime, if I can find players and time, or maybe find an existing group looking for another player. My dice are feeling unwanted.
Any particular system?

d20 by preference, though I'd love to give Exalted a go (and Scion). I've played D&D 3.5, Starwars d20 and I've DMd d20 Modern. Currently playing a PBP Starwars Saga game and trying to get into a couple of PBP D&D 3.5 games

Cool. I used to play RPGs, but just can't get interested in them any more. My last attempt was running a store-bought 4E campaign, but it was so badly written that I'd have had to re-write much of it just to keep the adventure going, so it all just fell apart. The only thing I still enjoy is rolling up characters in the old V&V system for the sheer absurdity. It is a shame I don't enjoy it much any more since most of my friends around here still play. Ah well. Hope you find some good groups to play with!

Sometimes! Depends on the rpg you're playing. Those'd be most at home in modern or recent historical.

My favorite RPG of all time was Shadowrun. 2nd Edition. I recently tried to GM a campaign (well, recently being a year and a half ago) in the new edition. They've shark jumped so hard the game makes me cry. If you're familiar with the system at all, I had to base it in Denver so I could have Ghostwalker 'declare' certain rediculous new things illegal, immoral, or inedible. Standard execution was wait for Ghostwalker to get hungry then he'd go through the local populace looking for 'edible law' breakers and having himself a chomp.
Overkill, perhaps, but I like a little over the top. Does nothing to the fact that it took away my taste to RPG for a good long while. RFID sprayers. May they die. "Thank you for wearing Albertson's Underwear!" should not be something my clothes should be announcing! And don't get me started on the 'magical wi-fi matrix'. Gyeah.
Ummm.... [/rant]

I read some Shadowrun fic a while back, never tried to play it, never even read the rules. I do like the concept of the world.

I played Shadowrun for years. Some great characters, some great runs (both sides of the table).
Got the new rules, read through them, decided they needed a little tweaking (to say the least) before being playable, but haven't had a chance to try them out yet and see how it goes.
Spending my pen-and-paper RPG time on D&D version 4 right now. Having a lot of fun with it.
