Are the posted questions getting worse?

Ouch... Steve, this guy might be good but he is going to scare away OPs. Better have a talk with him. That forum was for Newbies. You cant talk to someone like that...

In my humble opinion, he went too far.

Heck, I think it would be better to just tell him not to come back.

This just isn't acceptable - he might like his online persona, but it's going to drag SSC down. At least the OP had a decent response to it.

Yes indeed. Some are bashing Joe while others are trying to help the OP - and some are doing both. Good job all!

  • Craig - I see you came through on your threat of a ST avatar! Seems appropriate, especially in the thread with Joes latest rant.

I guess a new Star Trek avatar for our offensive responder could be Q.

I was thinking about making a comment in here about who made him God. Look at his initials: J.C. :w00t:

Sadly appropriate. Why is it everytime Celko posts I want to create a new topic for the express purpose of flogging him, traipsing through every one of his recent posts for quotes and ripping into him? It's the internet, for crying out loud. I shouldn't get that worked up.

    Meh.

Waving to Grant across the interwebs while listening to him present on execution plans!

Oh, that was you? Sorry I didn't wave back. Man, I need to work on my examples a bit.

I hate talking to a wall for presentations.

Grant, you should have done it like Jeff and our user group did it. You would have been talking to us instead of the wall. 🙂 Ask Jeff, we rocked on out first Net meeting. 🙂

Roy have you given any more thought to writing up the how to's and how not's so other user groups leaders can benefit.?

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

BWAA-HAA!!! What makes that so incredibly funny is that it's so incredibly true.

It was totally awesome. Thanks for the time you took on setting all of that up.

BTW... I just got my phone bill. AT&T sucks. I called them on it and they said the $163 I spent for the 45 minute phone call to you could have been reduced to 9 cents a minute if I paid them 5 bucks the week before to set it up. They wouldn't budge when I asked them why they couldn't do that after the fact.

What the heck... it'll make a good tax write off, I suppose. Just thought I'd post what happened in case anyone else tries it. Do the setup via email or IM... stay off the phone or plan ahead.

BTW, SSC usually has a blogger at the blogger table during the PASS Summit. Usually it's me, someone that can take notes during keynotes and post them. Since I won't be there....

any of you rapid posters want to lug a laptop to the keynote each day and take some notes and post a blog? One a day is fine, more are better, but up to you.

Ping me if you want the spot.

    Steve,

    Which of these is correct:

DELETE FROM Steve WHERE Location = 'Summit'

    or

DELETE FROM Summit WHERE Location = 'Blogger Table' AND PersonFullName = 'Steve Jones'

I'm hoping the second, not the first.

    Chad

    Both. Sorry.

I'll try to make more SQL Saturdays or regional events.

FYI: Aside from Demo-titis, Grant had a pretty good presentation. Wish I could go to PASS and see the full 90 minute one.

Now I'm obsessing about my latest project, trying to tweak it. Odd thing is, I removed an ORDER BY clause, thinking it'd make a SORT go away (which it did) but it increased the query time by 1 second. ???

Anyway, having fun with the new stuff I learned listening to Grant. Really really really recommend his session for PASS-going folks.

Ok... how'd I miss that? Where did you get the notification that such a thing was going to happen?
