Watching the twitter sphere it is apparent that many of the SQL Nation are in route to Seattle WA today.  Those would be a lot of the organizers, volunteers, and those speaking or attending a Monday pre-con.  I will be leaving Monday morning to start my journey.  I am very excited to be attending my third Summit.

As I start packing my bag I am realizing some new items I am adding to the list of things to take.  Things like a 15ft extension cord and a three outlet adapter.  This should help me make a few more friends during the Summit.  If there is one thing that is in short supply at the Summit it is power.  With my stash I will be able to provide power to two additional folks 15 ft from the wall.  Also if the plugs are all taken when I get in the room I can not only disconnect someone to plug in my triple adapter and plug them back in, I will be providing one more person with an available plug at the wall.

One new challenge I have this year is figuring out which shirt to wear which day.  On Wed is SQL Saturday shirt so I will be sporting my SQL Saturday 89 shirt, but I have some real nice shirts from several vendors.  I don’t want to be wearing the wrong shirt at any after party event sponsored by a competitor.  🙂  With a little planning this shouldn’t be an issue.

I am really excited about this years Summit.  It has been awesome seeing the tweets already coming across about those who are already in Seattle.  The community vibe sounds very strong this year and I can wait to be right in the middle of it all.
