SQLSaturday#380 NYC Event Update - Precons, Speakers....

,

Just wanted to blog a quick update on SQLSaturday#380 in NYC, happening on May 30, 2015.  As you are hanging the stockings by the chimney with care, we hope you register for NY SQLSaturday, and to see you there πŸ™‚   The official announcement was made in my recent blog, SQLSaturday Returns to NYC.  The new locale sits atop Times Square NYC, at Microsoft offices,11 Times Square, New York, NY 1003, which means, we have a beautiful ulta-modern new venue and two floors of conference and vendor space!  We can accomodate up to 450 lucky people who will put us over the top, as well as allow us to bring you multiple tracks of SQL training goodness, and more speakers for more topics!  Please don’t forget to REGISTER for the event as early and as soon as possible! Time flies when you're planning to come to the Big Apple πŸ˜‰

Moreover, because of our new venue, we are able to offer this year 2 precons, mostly like on the Friday before, but wanted to talk to this to my MVP and SQLProfessional peeps out there.  We have gotten a tremendous response of speaker submissions and pre-con proposals.  So, let me give you some guidance, if you are interested in doing a precon in NYC, and mention some dates and details.

If you would like to be considered for doing a Pre-con at SQLSaturday#380, please send your requests, abstract, and entry price to our official email address: sqlsaturday380@sqlsaturday.com.  Keep in mind, the deadline for pre-con submittals is 1/15/15.
Microsoft is being very generous to provide limited space and accomodations for pre-cons, which is very welcome.  Therefore, keep in mind, that while I and others would love to have a day of multiple pre-cons, we can only select and accomodate two (2).  To make the process as fair and random as possible, we will send out a survey to our local and regional user groups here in the Greater NYC/NJ area, the groups that usually attend SQLSaturday in NY.  All your topics (generalized so speakers can't be identified), will be on the ballot, and voted for by the user groups, to get a feel for popular demand.  We are trying to be as democratic as possible.  We will take the input and select our Pre-Cons by 2/15/15.  No hanging chads, dimples, or recounts πŸ˜‰
If you have already, or are planning to submit a precon proposal, please abide by the above rules. Regardless of whether your pre-con is selected, we sincerely hope and invite you to submit an abstract for a regular SQLSaturday presentation, and note that our CallForSpeakers is open until 3/31/2015. We thank you for your interest and greatly appreciate your proposals, and SQLCommunity dedication!
Please keep bookmarked to the PearlKnows Blog, and follow me on twitter @Pearlknows, as well as the hashtag #SQLSat380 and #SQLSatNYC for event updates!
In the meanwhile, I wish you all a Very Happy Holiday Season, Merry Christmas, and an Excellent New Year 2015!
