SQL Server 2005 SP2 and Maintenance Plans - Still not fixed yet

,

SQL Server MVP Aaron Bertrand has posted that there is still a bug with maintenance plans for SQL Server 2005 SP2. There looks to be another release coming to fix the issue. More here:

His advice is that if you're holding off applying SP2 because of the maintenance plan issue, hold off a little longer. If you've applied SP2 and you're thinking about applying the hotfix documented in KB article 933508, it may be a good idea to wait on that as well. I had just downloaded the hotfix to apply to one of my servers when I noticed Mr. Bertrand's post. I see that 933508 has been updated as of today, but I don't know what was updated on it, so I'm going to wait a couple of weeks to see what shakes out. As to what to do with 933097, a cumulative update for SQL Server 2005 SP2, I'll play the wait and see game there, too.
