Importing SQL Server 2008 Analysis Server Database

,

Have you ever lost your project file for a SQL Server Analysis Services database? There is a great option to create a new project from an existing database either in development or production.

First - Select to Create a New Project in BIDS (Business Intelligence Development Studio) and Choose the Import Analysis Services Database option and create the names and location for your projects etc.. At the bottom.

Second - Connect to the server desired (you must have permissions to do this), and choose the SSAS database you wish to import. (This will not create the database on your machine, it will only create the solution in BIDS based on the current configuration of the database.

Once the wizard runs through the process and creates your project, you are all done! Your project is once again ready for you to dive in.
