Help I’m an Oracle guy – whats all this SQL Server stuff ?

,

Having ventured into both the SQL Server world and the depths of Oracle RDBMS – Im often asked what the differences between the two are, or more often than not what, what my preference would be in choosing one technology.

Each has its own benefits for their own situations.

But what if you were a SQL Server DBA and had to delve into the Oracle world? Or vice versa – what if you are an Oracle DBA by trade but have found yourself maintaining SQL Server databases now too ??? – What information would be useful to you ? Differences between the 2  How functionality in one corresponds to functionality in the other ?

I’m looking to write a series of articles on this subject and would like to canvass opinion and establish what people would want to cover. Let me know guys !
