In case you hadn’t noticed, I love built in help. DBCC HELP, the script button in SSMS, even BOL. Well here’s another one.
Throughout the Azure portal you will find buttons called Quick Start. You won’t find it everywhere but I’ve found it in the Resource Groups blade, the Azure Active Directory blade, the SQL Server blade (the layer above an Azure SQL Database), and the SQL Database blade. FYI each time I found this option it was the first entry under settings
So what is it? It has links to information to help you get started.
In the case of SQL Server, we have links for various tools used to work with SQL Server, links with information on how to connect SQL Server to your app, and of course additional documentation (pricing and tutorials for example). You can see how this stuff can be really helpful. So if you see a Quick Start option it can’t hurt to take a look.
