My name is Robert Hartmann. I am an M.Sc Computer Science graduate with a specialization in databases. I've worked as a DBA for 2 years now, and recently earned an MCSA certification in SQL Server 2012. My focus of interests regarding SQL Server lies in in-depth knowledge as well as query optimizing and tuning, though I also sometimes work with SSAS and SSIS. I try to be as simple as possible in my writing in order to reach as many interested readers as I can.
Outside of work, I have a beautiful son and am married enjoying my family. You can follow me on twitter, or simply subscribe to my RSS feed on http://dirtyread.de/.

Question of the Day

Encoding URLs

I have this data in a SQL Server 2025 table:

CREATE TABLE Response
( ResponseID INT NOT NULL CONSTRAINT ResponsePK PRIMARY KEY
, ResponseVal VARBINARY(5000)
)
GO
If I want to get a value from this table that I can add to a URL in a browser, which of these code items produces a result I can use?
