Shouldn't, but I'd need to test in SQL Azure. AFAIK, this means the user can only create tables in schemas they can control or access. If I create a new...

Ah, didn't realize this was Azure SQL Database.
Setuser merely lets me change context. You could use two connections here. One does the granting of permissions as dbo/sa and the other...

If you want to practice SQL, I'd suggest you take a few questions on this site, like this one: http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1687195-3077-1.aspx
Only read the first post and try to solve it. If...

Your user has permission on the schema, but they don't have rights to create a table. They need CREATE TABLE permissions.
Here's a bit of test code:

I did say that most UDFs would never be updated, not all but, let's ask the question. How many UDFs that were already in production have you actually updated?

I'm not sure I agree UDFs will never be updated. If not, I totally agree. Test once, leave alone.
I want testing for anything that will be refactored.

I'm not sure I'd want the test conditions in a table, but that could work. Potentially managing lots of tests is cumbersome, though I haven't done enough large scale work...

Good job, Lynn. I felt bad for the guy filling in for the DBA. That's a tough spot.

Fair points on testing, but I'll say that this isn't simple. With respect to Jeff and Tom, I don't agree with 100% of anything. At most any scale for software,...

I think you're misunderstanding the way this works.
Imagine that when you run the backup command, it's not you, but that the SQL Server database engine service account does this:
- Logs...
