Is this Windows 2000? I've had issues there with Perfmon. Not sure if it still does it in W2K3 or W2k8.

Very strange. Is it always the same tables that are affected? Could there be an owner issue?
Is the data just gone, meaning it looks like the commands were never executed.

6GB is a large log file. I've seen larger, but your system should be extremely busy to fill this.
