Note that I'm not recommending Hyper-V. I'm not sure it's any better, or any worse, than other software. I have seen VMware used heavily, and it seems to work well...

Good points and I do think we need to remember it's the Summit. In the past, PASS (the organization) has not offered much more than the conference.

Have you enabled logging? Are you using the paths for backups set by SQL Server, or have you created your own folders? Have set security correctly for the SQL Server...

you can't easily do this. If the procedure returns result sets, you need code specifically in there to create the table. I cannot execute a stored procedure, get multiple result...

If you need to remove selected rows, do it in batches. You can switch to simple mode, delete 1000 or so rows, repeat, and then switch back to full mode....

Are you allowing UDP 1434 through? Or is the SQL Browser working? Those are used to resolve the port.
