Worst practices can definitely be a better starting point somehow. At least you can point to something that they can see is a bad example.

You are correct. I think it's much harder to lead, and since the bar is set so low for managers, they tend to follow that path.

I've done this, and we've set static ports in the firewall. If you don't do this, then you open a big range on the firewall, which upsets security people. Also...

The issue I've had with large logs is reading them when there are issues. It's a PIA to open a 5MB file. I'd cycle often enough to keep them opening...
